MGF
PH-MGF-001
Specifications
Description
MGF (Mechano Growth Factor) is a splice variant of IGF-1 produced locally in muscle tissue in response to mechanical stress. This autocrine growth factor initiates satellite cell activation and muscle hypertrophy.
Mechanism of Action
MGF is expressed in response to mechanical signals and muscle damage, activating quiescent satellite cells to begin the repair process. The MGF-E peptide significantly increases the proliferative life span and delays senescence of satellite cells, enhancing their fusion potential at different ages (Kandalla et al., 2011). MGF is a putative product of IGF-I gene expression involved in tissue repair and regeneration (Goldspink, 2010).
Research Applications
- Muscle repair and regeneration (Kandalla et al., 2011)

Frequently Asked Questions
What purity is MGF?
Each lot of MGF is verified to ≥99% by HPLC and confirmed by mass spectrometry. Results are documented in a batch-specific Certificate of Analysis.
Does MGF include a Certificate of Analysis?
Yes. A batch-specific Certificate of Analysis for MGF documents its purity and identity and is available on our COA page.
How should MGF be stored?
MGF is supplied as a lyophilized powder. For short-term storage keep it refrigerated; for long-term storage keep it frozen, away from light and moisture.
How is MGF shipped?
Orders ship at a $15 flat rate, free on orders over $199, in discreet, insulated packaging. Domestic delivery typically takes 1–3 business days.
Can MGF be used on humans or animals?
No. MGF is supplied strictly for in-vitro laboratory research. It is not for human or veterinary use, consumption, or diagnostic or clinical applications.
