KPV Peptide
PH-KPV-001
Specifications
Description
KPV is a tripeptide (Lys-Pro-Val) derived from the C-terminal sequence of alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone (α-MSH). This anti-inflammatory peptide inhibits NF-κB activation without melanocortin receptor binding.
Mechanism of Action
KPV exhibits potent anti-inflammatory effects in murine models of inflammatory bowel disease (Kannengiesser et al., 2008). Research shows efficacy as a mucoadhesive hydrogel for oral mucositis treatment (Shao et al., 2021).
Research Applications
- Inflammatory bowel disease (Kannengiesser et al., 2008)
- Oral mucositis treatment (Shao et al., 2021)
- Anti-inflammatory mechanism studies
- Cytokine modulation research
